Pittsburgh, PA – Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid left his club's 3-0 victory in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday with an apparent upper-body injury.
McQuaid was hurt at the 1:32 mark of the second period, when he was hit from behind into the end boards by Penguins forward Matt Cooke while both were pursuing a puck behind the Boston net.
The young defenseman was down on the ice for several moments before being taken to the locker room.
Cooke was given a major for checking from behind and a game misconduct for his actions.
