Midge, a 25-inch-tall, 125-pound equine, wasn’t horsing around as she trotted down the runway at the New York Pet Fashion Show Thursday evening.
The first horse in the event’s 16-year history, she arrived to the venue via SUV and sported a red-and-white sequined cape and matching mask.

It was an emotional moment for her humans, Justin and Mindy Alameda, who rescued Midge nearly 2 years ago.
“She lived in Texas where she was being kept in a dog crate,” Justin told The Post.

When a friend posted a photo of the horse, who has dwarfism, the couple knew they had to do something. They drove 16 hours each way to bring her to their Medford, N.J., farm.
Despite her hardship, she revealed her calm, gregarious personality early on and within a year was visiting nursing homes, hospitals and schools as a therapy horse. “She has a few deformities, but that does not slow her down a bit,” said Justin.

She’d even donned a couple outfits before, though nothing as glam as her catwalk get-up, designed by noted pet couturier Ada Nieves.
“It was a dream come true,” said Nieves, who has designed outfits for dogs, cats, chickens and even a camel. “I kept things simple because I wanted her to be comfortable. No pant legs. But I did add a lot of bling.”
