A new study findsmenstrual blood could help repair heart damage. Researchers used menstrual blood from nine women. About 20 percent of the cells started beating about three days after being put together in vitro with cells from the hearts of rats. Those cells later formed sheet-like heart muscle tissue.

The study finds that rats who had heart attacks improved after they received the menstrual blood cells.
