Following in the glamorous footsteps of Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum before her, Lily Aldridge will rock the Fireworks Fantasy Bra down the runway at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show later this year.
“I can’t believe it’s finally been announced,” Aldridge, 29, wrote on Instagram Monday. “Thank you so much @VictoriasSecret @Ed_Razek & Monica Mitro for this amazing honor!!!!”
The luxurious lingerie, which boasts a $2 million price tag, features over 6,500 gorgeous gems set in 18-karat gold. Designed by the label’s jeweler, Mouawad, the bejeweled bra took over 685 hours to complete.
While Aldridge’s chic corset won’t grace the catwalk until mid-November, the stunner has some pretty fancy shoes to fill after pals Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima adorned a pair of Fantasy Bras last winter.
“Words can’t describe how excited I was when I received a call from Victoria’s Secret to let me know that I would be wearing it,” Ambrosio, 34, gushed to People about the experience. “It’s every model’s dream to wear Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra, so when you get chosen, it is very important to do with elegance and enthusiasm.”
