Utah state troopers used a stun gun to arrest a man who drove his pickup truck up the west steps of the state Capitol building.

Utah Highway Patrol Capt. Barton Blair says troopers watching security cameras Tuesday afternoon saw the man in his 30s drive up and park outside the building. He then left his car and attempted to enter the historic Supreme Court room on the third floor.

Blair told The Salt Lake Tribune (http://bit.ly/1aEHE9X ) that the man from about 20 miles away in Layton said the Capitol was his home and he had the right to be there.

Blair says one officer injured his hand while arresting the man, whose name has not been released.

The Highway Patrol did not immediately return messages from The Associated Press.
