A lawyer says she'll try to get charges dismissed against four college football players who were arrested in suburban New York after their teammate was fatally shot by police.

The Pace University students are scheduled for arraignment Thursday morning in Mount Pleasant Town Court.

They were arrested Oct. 17 in the chaotic aftermath of the shooting of their teammate, 20-year-old Danroy Henry, outside a bar in Thornwood, about 35 miles north of New York City. An investigation into the shooting is under way.

Three of the students allegedly interfered with getting medical aid to Henry; they say they were trying to help. One was charged with breaking a store window. Defense attorney Bonita Zelman alleges the charges were filed to cover up police brutality.

Police say the arrests were proper.
