Two men have been charged with killing a woman more than 35 years ago after she was kidnapped from her job at a Los Angeles County gas station.

The district attorney's office said Wednesday that Terry Moses and Neal Antoine Matthews face several counts, including capital murder and special circumstance allegations related to robbery, kidnapping and rape. Both men are eligible for the death penalty if convicted.

Deputy District Attorney Tannaz Mokayef says DNA evidence tied both men to the death.

Prosecutors say Leslie Long was working a night shift at a Palmdale gas station on Dec. 3, 1978, when she was robbed and kidnapped. Her body was found three days later along a freeway.

It wasn't immediately known if the defendants have attorneys.
