Bradford Burgess scored 15 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Virginia Commonwealth to an 82-67 win over Hofstra on Thursday night.

The Rams (17-5, 9-1 Colonial Athletic Association) led 48-33 at halftime and by as many as 22 in the second en route to their eighth straight victory.

Jamie Skeen led the way on the offensive end for VCU, scoring 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Ed Dixon added 14 points and Juvonte Reddic 13.

The Rams, who assumed sole possession of first place in the CAA, outrebounded Hofstra 39-30 and shot 84 percent from the free-throw line (21 of 25) compared to 10 of 14 for the Pride (14-7, 8-2).

Charles Jenkins led all scorers with 20 and Greg Washington added 15 for Hofstra.

With the win, VCU extended its home winning streak to 21 consecutive games, which is good for the fourth-best active streak in the nation.
