Miguel Vazquez retained his IBF lightweight title for the fourth time with a controversial split decision victory over Marvin Quintero at the Turning Stone Casino on Saturday night.

Vazquez (32-3, 13 KOs) won by scores of 118-110 and 116-112 with the third judge scoring the bout 115-113 in favor of Quintero (25-4, 21 KOs) .

Quintero landed a series of harder punches, and was the aggressor throughout the fight, but was unable to slow the mobile Vazquez, who dipped and dodged around the ring all night.

The 25-year-old Quintero surged through the middle round, but Vazquez became more aggressive as the fight went on and appeared to get the best of his opponent in the later rounds.
