Will Weathers had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Troy used a second-half spurt to defeat Denver 64-55 on Saturday night.

The double-double was Weathers' fourth of his career and Vernon Taylor added 18 points for the Trojans (7-17, 5-7 Sun Belt Conference), who have won two games in a row for only the second time this season.

The Pioneers (12-13, 8-4) are tied with Arkansas State atop the conference West standings.

Tied at 36 with 13:02 to play, Troy used a 15-6 spurt to pull away and shot 57.1 percent in the second half (12 of 21).

Denver got to 58-51 with 1:59 left on a layup by Chase Hallam, who led the Pioneers with 14 points, but the Trojans went 6 of 6 from the free-throw line to seal the win.

Troy outscored Denver 28-18 in the paint and had a 30-24 rebounding advantage over the Pioneers, who rank last in the NCAA in rebounding at 23.4 a game.
