Three U.S. crews - the women's eight, women's pair and women's quadruple sculls - had gold, silver and bronze-medal performances on May 27 at the 2012 Samsung World Rowing Cup II in Luzern, Switzerland, to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games. Also qualifying for the Games was the lightweight women's double sculls team, which finished fourth, and Genevra "Gevvie" Stone (Boston, Mass.), who qualified in the women's single sculler. Earlier in the week, the women's doubles sculls, lightweight men's four and men's eight crews qualified for the Games.
ARCHERY
The U.S. men's recurve team totaled 221 points en route to a first-place finish at the Pan American Championships held May 20-26 in Merliot City, El Salvador.

Team USA men and women competed at the 2012 Thomas and Uber Cup Finals held May 20-27 in Wuhan, China, but failed to advance past pool play.
CANOE/KAYAK
Tim Hornsby (Atlanta, Ga.) edged out Ryan Dolan (Kailua, Hawaii) in the Men's K-1 200-meter B final of the 2012 ICF Sprint World Cup No. 2 in Duisburg, Germany, on May 27. With the win, Hornsby clinched the lone men's sprint kayak nomination for Team USA at the 2012 Olympic Games.
CYCLING
Connor Fields(Henderson, Nev.) took the elite men's time trial superfinal title at the 2012 UCI BMX World Championships on May 25 in Birmingham, Great Britain, while 17-year old Felicia Stancil (Lake Villa, Ill.) earned the junior elite women's time trial title. The next day, Arielle Martin (Spanaway Wash.) and David Herman(Wheat Ridge, Colo.) led the American effort with fourth- and fifth-place efforts in their respective events, while Stancil, Maliek Byndloss (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Danielle George (Palmdale, Calif.) delivered the only championship (supercross) class medals of the day for Team USA in the juniors divisions.
Dave Zabriskie (Westlake Village, Calif.) collected his seventh victory in the time trial at the 2012 Greenville Hospital System USA Cycling Professional Time Trial National Championships presented by Duke Energy in Greenville, S.C., on May 26.
Junior cyclist T.J. Eisenhart (Lehi, Utah) road to a first-place finish at the Tour Du Pays de Vaud, held May 27 in Switzerland.
EQUESTRIAN
Frankie Thieriot (Occidental, Calif.) and Julie Flettner (Petaluma, Calif.) rode faultless show jumping rounds to win the two divisions of the $15,000 Woodside Preliminary Challenge at the Woodside Horse Trials on May 25-27.
FIELD HOCKEY
The U.S. Women's National Team rolled away with a commanding 5-2 win over Canada on May 22 in Victoria, B.C.
GYMNASTICS
Alexandra Raisman (Needham, Mass.) won the senior all-around title at the 2012 Secret U.S. Classic, the final qualifying event for the 2012 Visa Championships, on May 26 in Chicago. Meanwhile, Kayla Ross (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) and Kennedy Baker (Flower Mound, Texas) took second and third in the all-around competition.
MODERN PENTATHLON
U.S. Army Capt. Mickey Kelly(Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished 35th at the 2012 UIPM World Cup Final in Chengdu, China, on May 26.
SOCCER
Alex Morgan (Diamond Bar, Calif.) scored two goals as the U.S. Women's National Team came from behind to defeat China, 4-1, on May 27 in Chester, Pa.
Landon Donovan (Ontario, Calif.) tallied his third-career hat trick to lead the U.S. Men's National Team to a 5-1 victory over Scotland in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 26.
TENNIS
After a successful weekend, U.S. women are 10-for-10 at the French Open, giving the country its most representatives in the Grand Slam tournament's second round since 2003. Meanwhile, Brian Baker (Nashville, Tenn.) won his first French Open main-draw match after defeating Xavier Malisse (Belgium), 6-3, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (5), in Paris on May 28.
TRIATHLON
Paratriathletes from across the U.S. raced their way to national titles on May 28 at the 2012 USA Paratriathlon National Championship in Austin, Texas. National titles were awarded in six divisions, and division winners also earned spots on the USA Paratriathlon National Team.
Jarrod Shoemaker (Clermont, Fla.) led the U.S. with an 18th-place finish at the ITU World Triathlon Madrid on May 27. He currently stands 12th and is the top- ranked American in the World Triathlon Series rankings after three races.
VOLLEYBALL
The beach volleyball team of Phil Dalhausser (Ormond Beach, Fla.) and Todd Rogers (Santa Barbara, Calif.) took home the bronze medal at the Patria Direct Prague Open on May 28 in the Czech Republic.
WATER POLO
Powerhouse forward Tony Azevdeo scored six goals to lead Team USA to a 12-9 victory over Hungary in Newport Beach, Calif., on May 27. The day before, Team USA lost to Croatia, 8-7.
WATER SKI
U.S. water ski athletes Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) and Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.) won titles at the 53rd Masters Water Ski Tournament at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga., on May 25.
WRESTLING
Team USA defeated Azerbaijan, 5-2, on May 27 to finish seventh at the women's world cup in Tokyo. The U.S. concluded the tournament with a 1-3 record.
The U.S. scored seven medals at the Hari Ram Grand Prix in New Delhi, India, held May 25-27. Jon Reader (Ames, Iowa) led Team USA with a gold medal in the 84kg freestyle competition.
