Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Steelers released wide receiver Lance Moore Monday following one unproductive season with the team.

Moore, who delivered a 1,000-yard season for New Orleans in 2012 and was a member of the Saints' 2009 Super Bowl XLIV champion team, managed just 14 catches for 198 yards and two touchdowns with the Steelers last season.

The Steelers will save $1.5 million towards their salary cap with the move.

Moore spent nine seasons with the Saints prior to joining the Steelers last March and amassed 344 catches totaling 4,281 yards with 78 touchdowns during his tenure in New Orleans.
