The Miami Heat's Erik Spoelstra and the San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich have been named the top coaches for the Eastern and Western Conference, respectively, for February.

Spoelstra's Heat posted an 11-2 record in February, finishing the month on an eight-game win streak, with each of the victories coming by double digits. Three of the wins in the streak, February 12-14 against Atlanta, Milwaukee and Indiana, made the Heat the first team to win three straight road games on consecutive nights since the Phoenix Suns accomplished the feat in 1979.

Popovich also led his team to an 11-2 mark in the month, tying the Heat for the league's most wins in February. Including the Spurs' last game in January, San Antonio reeled off an 11-game win streak that included eight straight victories on the road. The streak moved the Spurs to the top spot of the Southwest division.

Other nominees were Chicago's Tom Thibodeau, Detroit's Lawrence Frank, Memphis' Lionel Hollins, Oklahoma City's Scott Brooks, Orlando's Stan Van Gundy and New York's Mike D'Antoni.
