Spain has again advanced to the Davis Cup set victory over the Kazakhstan duo of Evgeny Korolev and Yuriy Schukin.

Granollers and Lopez needed just an hour and 46 minutes in Saturday's 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 rout, giving the defending Davis Cup champion Spaniards an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the best-of-five tie.

Juan Carlos Ferrero and Nicolas Almagro had lifted Spain to a 2-0 lead after Friday's opening singles matches.

The Spaniards have won five of the last 12 Davis Cup championships and began defense of their latest crown without their top two players, as both Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer opted out of this weekend's tie. Nadal had previously stated that he would not play Davis Cup this year.

Ferrer could still return when Spain faces the winner between Austria and Russia in April's quarterfinals.
