Denver, CO – The Colorado Rockies designated catcher Wil Nieves for assignment on Wednesday.
Nieves had been on the disabled list since mid-July with turf toe.
The nine-year veteran played 16 games for Colorado this season and hit .298 with two doubles, a home run and five RBI.
