Brandon Penn scored 13 of his 20 points in the first half and Rider defeated Marist 80-66 on Thursday night.

The Broncs (13-7, 5-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led 35-32 at halftime and opened the second half with a 13-1 run. Danny Stewart, who scored seven points during the spurt, capped it on a dunk for a 48-33 Rider lead with 15:05 remaining.

Stewart finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds on his 19th birthday. Justin Robinson added 15 points, Mike Ringgold 11 and Novar Gadson 10 for the Broncs, who won for the ninth time in their last 13 and snapped a two game losing skid.

Ringgold also tied his career high with seven of Rider's 22 assists. The Broncs scored 25 points off 19 turnovers.

Rusin Candon and Sam Prescott scored 18 points each and Devin Price chipped in 15 for the Red Foxes (4-16, 3-5), who lost their third in a row.
