Tyler Murray scored a career-high 28 points to lead Wagner past Quinnipiac 73-68 in Northeast Conference action on Monday night.

The Seahawks (6-7, 2-0) trailed 65-61 with 3:43 remaining before scoring nine straight points to take a 70-65 lead with only 27 seconds left to play.

Latif Rivers scored 12 points and Chris Martin added 11 for Wagner, which used a 57.1 percent-shooting effort (12 of 21) in the second half to break a 32-32 tie at halftime.

Quinnipiac (9-3, 1-1) was led by Justin Rutty, who scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. James Johnson added 15 points and Deontay Twyman 14 in the loss.

Wagner was outrebounded 41-31 and outscored 28-14 on points in the paint, but the Seahawks held a 19-4 edge in points off turnovers.

Murray finished 7 for 10 from the floor, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range and led Wagner in rebounds with eight.
