HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Cameron Moore had 18 points and 14 rebounds and Jamarr Sanders scored 17 points to lead Alabama-Birmingham to a 64-48 victory over Marshall in a Conference USA game Wednesday night.
Moore scored 10 points, including two 3-pointers, during a 17-6 run by the Blazers (17-6, 7-3) that gave them a 52-35 lead with 12:35 remaining.
The Thundering Herd (15-9, 3-6) never got closer than 14 points after that. UAB is 12-0 when holding opponents under 60 points.
Marshall's final lead was 8-6 with 17:03 remaining in the first half. Moore tied the game with a jumper that began a 16-2 run, which included a pair of 3s by Dexter Fields.
UAB's Aaron Johnson, who ranks third nationally in assists with 7.4 per game, had seven against Marshall and also scored 10 points.
Damier Pitts scored 19 points to lead Marshall and Tirrell Baines had 11.
