Jake Gallon scored seven of his 14 points in overtime and Mercer defeated Stetson 72-62 Thursday night.

Mark Hall added 23 points and Brian Mills 21 for the Bears (10-15, 7-7 Atlantic Sun Conference), who outscored Stetson 19-9 in the extra session.

Mercer scored the first five points of overtime before Stetson cut it to one, 58-57, with 2:48 left. The Bears then scored the next six points, before Aaron Graham's 3 put the Hatters within four, 64-60, with 1:31 to go.

Mercer answered with eight straight to take the biggest lead of the game, 72-60, with 32 seconds to play.

The Bears were 5 of 7 shooting in overtime, including 3 for 3 from long range, while Stetson was just 3 of 9 from the field.

Mercer's Bud Thomas made 1 of 2 field goals to send it into overtime tied 53-53 with 8 seconds left.

Corey Walden led the Hatters (7-19, 5-10) with 21 points.
