Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran cornerback Will Blackmon was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday.

Blackmon recorded 30 tackles and one sack over eight games, including four starts, with the Jaguars last season before being placed on injured reserve with a fractured finger.

The 30-year-old started eight games as Jacksonville's nickel back in 2013 and finished that season with 40 tackles, one interception and 11 passes defensed over 15 contests.

Blackmon has played in 66 games over eight NFL seasons with Green Bay, the New York Giants and Jacksonville, and was a member of the Giants' Super Bowl XLVI champion team in 2011.
