Michael Glover scored 23 points and Iona used two second-half surges against cold-shooting Saint Peter's to win 70-52 on Friday night.

Glover was 11 of 12 from the field and had seven rebounds and three blocks.

After the Gaels (9-6, 3-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led 36-34 at halftime, the Peacocks tied it with 18:55 to go.

Saint Peter's (8-7, 3-1) then failed to score for the next 8:28 during Iona's 10-0 run.

Yvon Raymond ended the Peacocks' drought with a three-point play with 10:27 left, but the Gaels answered with a 9-0 spurt, including seven points by Rashon Dwight, who finished with 12.

Iona outshot Saint Peter's in the second half from the field 52.4 percent (11 of 21) to 26.1 percent (6 of 23).

Wesley Jenkins led the Peacocks with 11 points after missing three games with a right knee injury.

The Gaels had a 34-10 advantage in the paint.
