Prattville, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Mi Jung Hur fired a 5-under 67 on Saturday and she joined Paula Reto in the lead after three rounds of the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic.
Reto carded a 2-under 70 in round three. The duo ended 54 holes tied at 15- under-par 201. They shared ninth place three weeks ago in Portland.
Kris Tamulis had the low round of the day as she fired a 7-under 65 at the Senator Course on the RTJ Golf Trail's Capitol Hill Golf Club. She joined world No. 1 Stacy Lewis (70) in third place at minus-11. Lewis won this title the last time the event was played in 2012.
Alison Walshe (71) and Moriya Jutanugarn (71) are tied for fifth at 8-under- par 208. Ilhee Lee carded a 4-under 68 on Saturday. She moved into a share of seventh at minus-7, where she was joined by Ayako Uehara (70), Brittany Lang (70), Sydnee Michaels (72) and Perrine Delacour (69).
Hur birdied the second, but gave that shot right back as she bogeyed the third. She birdied the fourth to move back to 11-under, then reeled off six consecutive pars from the fifth.
Reto started with three pars in a row from stumbling to a bogey on the fourth. She erased that mistake with a birdie on the sixth.
After faltering to a double-bogey at the par-3 seventh, Reto came right back with birdies at eight and nine en route to making the turn at minus-13.
"I wasn't where I wanted to be with my mental stuff, so I just took a couple seconds to myself just to rethink everything, just kind of stayed in there. After that, I just kind of blocked it out and just went on," Reto of what she did after making double-bogey at the seventh.
Reto came up short of the 11th with her second shot from the rough. That led to a bogey and Hur drained a short birdie putt at the same hole to forge a tie at 12-under.
The pair went shot for shot down the stretch. They both were inside seven feet at the 14th and both converted their birdie efforts. Reto drained a 9-footer for birdie at 16, but Hur answered with a 4-foot birdie putt of her own.
They both reached the par-5 17th with their third shots. Both players made birdie from inside five feet to remain tied for the lead. They ended with pars at the last.
"At the beginning of the round, my putting wasn't that good, but after we made the turn, my putting got better and better," said Hur. "I'm not going to think about anything like who's playing behind me. I will just focus on my ball."
NOTES: Hur has a piece of the 54-hole lead for the third time in her career ... Hur is in the final group in the final round for the third straight tournament ... Reto has a piece of the lead for the second straight day, and those were the first two times she had a share of the lead after any round.
