Hoosiers head into NCAA tourney as one of favorites after earning No. 1 seed in Midwest Region

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana will open the NCAA tournament in Dayton, Ohio, as the No. 1 seed in the East Region of the NCAA tournament.

Indiana will face either Long Island-Brooklyn or James Madison on Thursday. A win would send the Hoosiers into a third-round contest against either North Carolina State or Temple.

The Hoosiers (27-6) watched Sunday's selection show privately and were expected to speak with reporters later Sunday.
