Mexico City, Mexico – Miguel Herrera was named the new coach of America on Wednesday, replacing Alfredo Tena.
Herrera becomes the fourth coach at America in a year with the club having failed to reach the Apertura playoffs after finishing 17th in the league table.
America last won a league title in 2005, and along with the arrival of Herrera comes a new club president, Ricardo Pelaez.
