Athens, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Georgia safety Josh Harvey-Clemons has been dismissed from the football team for an unspecified violation of team rules, head coach Mark Richt announced Tuesday.
Harvey-Clemons, an 11-game starter for the Bulldogs last season, had already been slated to sit out the first three games of the 2014 campaign because of a previous suspension -- reportedly for failing a drug test. The rising junior also missed Georgia's loss to Nebraska in last month's Gator Bowl as part of the penalty.
A prized recruit from Georgia's 2012 class, Harvey-Clemons ranked third among Bulldog players with 66 tackles last season and led the team with three fumble recoveries. The Valdosta, GA native added one interception and 5 1/2 stops for loss.
