Stefon Johnson scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Gardner-Webb ended a nine-game losing streak with a 58-50 win over Charleston Southern on Thursday night.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (7-13, 2-6 Big South Conference) trailed 24-23 at halftime, but used a solid performance from their bench to pull away from Charleston Southern in the second half.

Gardner-Webb scored 26 points off the bench compared to just four for the Buccaneers (11-9, 5-3) and outrebounded Charleston Southern 41-31.

David Brown, who scored 10 points, was the only other player in double figures for the Runnin' Bulldogs, who had seven players score at least six points.

Jamarco Warren scored 19 points on 5 3-pointers, and Kelvin Martin added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Buccaneers, who shot 35.7 percent from the field (20 of 56) and saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
