(SportsNetwork.com) - Winnipeg wasn't able to keep Nashville's Filip Forsberg off the scoresheet the last time the clubs met, but it was still able to earn a victory.
The Jets hope to cool Forsberg off on Saturday night as they visit the Predators.
Tonight marks the third meeting of the season between these Central Division rivals, with the two earlier encounters both taking place in Winnipeg.
Pekka Rinne posted a 31-save shutout and both James Neal and Mike Ribeiro scored to lead the Preds to a 2-0 victory on Oct. 17, but the Jets countered with a 3-1 victory on Nov. 4.
Andrew Ladd and Mark Scheifele scored first-period power-play goals, Blake Wheeler tallied into an empty net and Ondrej Pavelec made 23 saves.
Forsberg scored for Nashville, which has won four of its last five at home in this series, part of his current six-game goal-scoring streak. He has seven tallies over that time, picking up his latest goal in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

"We were battling all the way until the end. With a little luck, we could have tied it up," Forsberg said.
Roman Josi joined Forsberg with a goal and two assists, fellow defenseman Shea Weber scored and added a helper, while Rinne stopped 23 shots.
The Jets, meanwhile, have picked up a point in nine of their last 10 games. They had an eight-game point streak (6-0-2) snapped with a shutout loss to Montreal on Tuesday, but bounced back with Thursday's 3-1 triumph over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Wheeler scored twice off deflections and Michael Hutchinson had 22 saves. Michael Frolik tacked on an empty-net goal, while Scheifele and Mark Stuart had two assists each.
"We really liked our first period," Jets head coach Paul Maurice said. "We got a little bit of a payoff, coming in from a loss from Montreal and establishing a real good level of play."
Winnipeg is now 1-1-1 on a five-game road trip that ends on Sunday in Minnesota.
