Keith Watson scored in the first half and Jon Daly and Willo Flood added second-half goals as Dundee United beat Dundee, 3-0, on Sunday at Dens Park in the Scottish Premier League.

Watson opened the scoring inside 17 minutes, and Daly converted from the spot 19 minutes from time to put Dundee United in control on the road. Flood added an insurance goal with two minutes left in normal time.

Dundee United rebounded from a 2-1 home loss to Motherwell, as it climbed to seventh in the standings with 23 points from 16 matches ahead of its visit to Glasgow on Wednesday to play first-place Celtic.

Dundee lost its second straight match and for the 11th time this season, as it remained cemented on the bottom of the standings - six points out of 11th.
