Dortmund, Germany – Borussia Dortmund and Germany midfielder year-old will be sidelined.
Gotze opened the Bundesliga season with a goal and two assists in a 3-1 win in Dortmund over Hamburg and followed that with a goal in a friendly against Brazil for Germany. He also had an assist against Nurnberg.
He will sit out some training sessions this week, but the minor injury is not likely to cost him any games. Dortmund, which won the Bundesliga last season, visits Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday in Bundesliga play.
