The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired pitcher Mike Zagurski from the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday.

Zagurski, 28, appeared in four games for the Phillies this season, giving up two runs in 3 1/3 innings (5.40 ERA), with a .286 opposing batting average, four strikeouts and three walks.

The left-hander also went 4-0 with a 2.65 ERA, 11 saves, 63 strikeouts and 27 walks in 46 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Arizona also designated pitcher Esmerling Vasquez for assignment.

Vasquez, 27, posted a 1-1 record with a 4.15 ERA, 20 strikeouts and 13 walks in 31 games with the D-Backs in 2011. Over parts of three major league seasons with Arizona, Vasquez recorded a 5-10 mark with a 4.66 ERA, 120 strikeouts and 80 walks in 141 games.
