Dennis Kramer scored 16 points in 18 minutes and was one of four players in double figures for a San Diego team that shot 51.4 percent from the field in their season opening 91-58 offensive outburst over San Diego Christian.

Kramer hit a 3-point basket with 6:06 to go in the second half to give the Toreros a 74-50 lead and begin a 14-0 run which eventually put an end to any hopes of a comeback for San Diego Christian (0-2). Cameron Miles capped off San Diego's late second-half run with a 3-point basket of his own with 2:52 to play, giving the Toreros a 85-50 lead.

Chris Manresa had 14 points, Mike Davis had 12 and Ken Rancifer chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds for the Toreros, which were 15 of 19 from the charity stripe. San Diego owned the advantage on the boards, out-rebounding the Hawks 53-28.
