Cubs recall Beliveau, option Raley

Chicago, IL – The Chicago Cubs have recalled pitcher Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Iowa.

Beliveau returns to the big league roster for the second time this season. From July 22-Aug. 20, Beliveau posted a 3.18 earned run average and no record in 11 relief appearances.

To make room on the roster, the club optioned pitcher Brooks Raley to Iowa. Raley made five starts for the Cubs, going just 1-2 with an 8.14 ERA.
