The Cleveland Browns have lost reserve linebacker Kaluka Maiava (My-ah-vah) for the season with a leg injury.

The Browns placed the second-year player on injured reserve Tuesday. Maiava was credited with one tackle before suffering the injury in Sunday's 16-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Browns re-signed linebacker Titus Brown off Denver's practice squad. Brown was waived by Cleveland on Sept. 9.

Cleveland selected Maiava in the fourth round out of Southern Cal in 2009. He made three starts last season and appeared in all 16 games, finishing with 40 tackles, 2½ sacks and one forced fumble.

Maiava missed just one game in four years at USC, where he was part of a heralded linebacking tandem that included Brian Cushing, Rey Maualuga and Clay Matthews Jr.
