Tottenham acquired Emmanuel Adebayor from 12 season.

Adebayor, 27, spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Madrid and scored twice against Tottenham in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

"We are delighted to announce the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor on a season- long loan from Manchester City," Tottenham said on its website.

Adebayor first moved to the English Premier League in 2006 when he left Monaco for Arsenal. He has scored 81 goals in 186 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal and City.

Tottenham hosts Manchester City on Sunday.
