Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Offensive linemen dominated the first round of the CFL Draft Tuesday night and the Montreal Alouettes selected Richmond's Jacob Rudy with the eighth overall pick in the first round.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Rudy is a native of London, Ontario. As a senior last year, he earned All-CAA third-team honors.
The Calgary Stampeders selected Yale running back Tyler Varga in the third round at No. 19 overall. Varga previously signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts and is pursuing an NFL career.
Also, McNeese State defensive lineman Everett Ellefsen was a sixth-round pick of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at No. 51.
The nine CFL teams drafted 62 players over eight rounds.
