Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed tight end Tom Crabtree on injured reserve Wednesday.

Crabtree suffered a torn biceps during Sunday's 24-21 win over the Detroit Lions. He is expected to undergo surgery to repair the injury.

Crabtree had four catches for 21 yards with a touchdown in seven games this season. He also missed time this year with a high ankle sprain.

The Bucs signed tight end Kyle Adams to replace Crabtree on the active roster.

In his third season, Adams has played in 24 games with two starts, recording four receptions for 40 yards. He entered the league as a college free agent with Chicago in 2011 and appeared in one game for the Bears this year.
