Paris, France – The American twin Bryan bothers, Bob and Mike, secured a berth in the men's doubles final four with a three-set quarterfinal victory Tuesday at the French Open.
The second-seeded former world No. 1 Bryans held off an unseeded tandem of Austrian Oliver Marach and Argentine Horacio Zeballos 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 at Stade Roland Garros.
The 2003 French Open champion and two-time Roland Garros runner-up Bryans' semifinal opponent on Thursday will be a 10th-seeded pairing of Pakistan's Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Netherlands Antilles' Jean-Julien Rojer, which upset a third-seeded team of France's Michael Llodra and Serb Nenad Zimonjic 6-4, 2-1, retired.
The 34-year-old reigning Wimbledon champion Bryan brothers own 11 Grand Slam doubles titles overall.
Thursday's other semi will pit the top-seeded duo of Belarusian Max Mirnyi and Canadian Daniel Nestor against a 14th-seeded Italian tandem of Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace. Mirnyi and Nestor are the reigning French Open champs.
