Bayern Munich's Ivica Olic will be out six to eight weeks with a torn tendon in his hip, the Bundesliga club announced on Sunday.

Olic, a Croatia international, missed most of last season with meniscus and cartilage damage in his left knee and suffered the latest injury Saturday in a 5-0 win over Hamburg on Saturday. Olic scored in an appearance off the bench.

The injury happened when Olic collided with Hamburg center back Jeffrey Bruma. The injury was not thought to be serious at first, but tests Sunday revealed the extent of the damage in his hip.

The news is a hard blow for Olic and Bayern following his previous nine months on the sideline.
