Waalwijk, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Ajax maintained its eight-point advantage at the top of the Eredivisie table on Wednesday with a 2-0 win at RKC Waalwijk.

Goals from Joel Veltman and Davy Klaassen in the opening 30 minutes were enough as Ajax held off RKC to extend its unbeaten streak in league play to 18 games.

The Amsterdam outfit remains eight points clear of second-place Feyenoord, which beat Heracles, 2-1, on Wednesday, with just four games remaining as Ajax seeks its fourth straight league title.

Feyenoord stayed in the hunt after coming from a goal down at Heracles to claim three points.

Iliass Bel Hassani put the home side in front after 14 minutes, but Mitchell Te Vrede equalized on the half-hour mark for Feyenoord before Tonny Vilhena put Feyenoord into the lead four minutes before halftime for the 2-1 win.

Utrecht notched a 1-0 triumph over Cambuur thanks to a 56th-minute goal from Jacob Mulenga with Cambuur being reduced to 10 men in the 67th due to a Lucas Bijker red card.

Go Ahead Eagles downed NAC, 2-1, with Henrico Drost's own goal six minutes from time providing the difference and Twente was held to a 1-1 home draw by Den Haag as Michiel Kramer scored in the 82nd minute for the visitors while Twente finished the match with nine men.
