TROY, Ala. – Musa Abdul-Aleem scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds as Troy beat Brewton Parker 85-71 on Friday in the season opener for both teams.
Chris Bilbo had 15 points and five rebounds for the Trojans. Kevin Thomas and Wesley Person, Jr. each added 12 points. John Walton III scored 10 points and led the team with seven rebounds.
Troy had a 36-34 lead at the break but went on to bury the Barons in the second period. The team hit 45 percent overall from the field, 70 percent from the line and outrebounded the Barons 49-38.
Brewton Parker sank 39 percent from the field overall, 74 percent from the line, and just 1 of 17 from three-point territory.
Deion Bernard and Warren LeBeauf scored 15 points apiece for the Barons. Justin Quarterman grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds.
