Trump admin releases first batch of declassified UFO files documenting 'extraterrestrial life'

Declassified transcripts from two Apollo missions show astronauts repeatedly describing unexplained lights and objects while orbiting and walking on the moon.

The Pentagon on Friday released transcripts and photos from two NASA Apollo missions as part of a broader disclosure of dozens of photos and documents detailing UFO sightings it has documented since the 1950s.

The trove of documents reporting UFO and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) sightings comes in compliance with a directive from President Donald Trump aimed at increasing government transparency around reported UFO sightings, all of which remain unsolved. Tens of millions of documents are being combed through and will be released on a rolling basis.

The documents include technical transcripts and photos from Apollo 12 in 1969 and Apollo 17 in 1972, capturing moments in which crews discussed strange flashes, moving lights and unidentified phenomena against the stark lunar horizon.

President Donald Trump criticized his predecessors Friday for failing to disclose government information on UFOs and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) in a post on Truth Social.

"As for my promise to you, the Department of War has released the first tranche of the UFO/UAP files to the Public for their review and study," Trump posted Friday.

"In an effort for Complete and Maximum Transparency, it was my Honor to direct my Administration to identify and provide Government files related to Alien and Extraterrestrial Life, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, and Unidentified Flying Objects," he continued.

"Whereas previous Administrations have failed to be transparent on this subject, with these new Documents and Videos, the people can decide for themselves, “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?” Have Fun and Enjoy! President DONALD J. TRUMP," the president concluded.

Declassified FBI documents reveal the Nazis might have had secret UFO-like crafts.

The U.S. government, at the direction of President Donald Trump, dropped a gold mine of UFO files early Friday morning.

As a UFO enthusiast (impossible not to be at this point), I immediately dived in, and uncovered a gem:

The possible existence of a Nazi UFO in 1944.

The documents released to the public on Friday included multiple pages concerning a tip about a possible Nazi UFO craft.

The Nazis were obsessed with advanced weapons programs during the war, including what some might consider wonder weapons. Weapons so powerful that they could change the tide of the war.

Astronauts on the 1972 Apollo 17 manned moon landing described seeing a number of "twinkling" and fast-moving particles, including one sighting from the moon's surface, in correspondence released by the Pentagon on Friday.

"Now we've got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we maneuver," one astronaut relayed to Houston.

"Then there's a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there - just bright. It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron's window," another chimed in.

"Yes. Now you can see some of them in shape. They're very jagged, angular fragments that are tumbling," he added.

Houston command then added that the objects "look like fluid of some sort."

In a separate tape outlined in the same transcript, the astronauts go into more detail.

"To add to today. Not last night, but I guess the first night I was in bed - I definitely saw some of these - because I had a hard time going to bed, to start with - I saw some of the same peripheral horizon-type things," an astronaut added.

"Probably the one most imposing thing I remember is - and the last one I remember before falling asleep - was the fact that there was a very bright spot that flashed right between my eyes like a very bright headlight - like a train coming at you, only with a flash," he continued.

One astronaut saw an object while standing on the moon.

"Hey, I just saw a flash on the lunar surface!" he exclaimed.

"It was just out there north of Grimaldi," he said, describing the Grimaldi Crater on the lunar surface.

"It was a bright little flash right out there near that crater," he continued, adding "fairly sharp one north of it is where there was just a thin streak of light."

An FBI lab-rendered graphic included in the UFO records released by the Pentagon on Friday depicts eyewitness reports from September 2023 of "an apparent ellipsoid bronze metallic object materializing out of a bright light in the sky, 130-195 feet in length, and disappearing instantaneously."

The three eyewitnesses were working on a project involving Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology in a restricted airspace, they told the FBI.

One of the witnesses, who the FBI report says was a woman who personally closed the airspace in the area, described seeing a "cigar shaped object with an extremely bright light southwest of them approximately 500 to 3000 feet above the nearest tree line."

"The object was already there when she looked up. The object was almost hovering, slowly moving from east to west. The light was an intense diamond white light with what appeared to be a ring around the light and was located on the eastern end of the object. The light was pointing south east and looking at it (the light) was like looking into the sun. The object was 'metallic bronze in color' and was the length of two or three Blackhawk helicopters lined up nose to tail. The width of the object was approximately the width of one and a half Blackhawks," the report stated.

The object was also apparently completely silent.

"They watched the object for five to ten seconds and then the object just disappeared," the report said. The female eyewitness claimed she "felt it left when it saw them."

A separate eyewitness who the report described as a drone pilot described the light surrounding the object.

"The light was stationary in the air, then started moving to the right and then disappeared," the witness told the FBI.

A third witness also described the light.

"The light was bright white and was visible for ten seconds before it disappeared. The light stayed the same size throughout the incident. thought the light was ten to twenty miles away. did not notice any interference with his vehicle," the witness reported.

The female witness told the FBI she wouldn't have reported the object unless she had personally seen it and claimed several of her co-workers made fun of her after she filed her report. She also said she had never seen anything like it in her 15 years working with military aircraft.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth said Friday that the Pentagon is "in lockstep" with President Donald Trump on bringing "unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena."

"These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it’s time the American people see it for themselves," Hegseth wrote on X.

"This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency," he added.

A large portion of the files in the government's Friday release come directly from the Pentagon.

Podcaster Joe Rogan suggested to Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., on Thursday that President Donald Trump may soon disclose classified information regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs)—commonly known as UFOs—as a strategic "distraction" from the ongoing conflict with Iran.

Rogan, a pivotal media figure credited with galvanizing "manosphere" and independent voters for Trump during the 2024 election, has recently joined a chorus of populist voices criticizing the administration's second-term foreign policy. Despite Trump’s campaign promises to avoid "forever wars," the current military operations in Iran have sparked a rift between the White House and some of its most influential media allies.

During a Thursday episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the host and the Tennessee congressman discussed why the executive branch might suddenly pivot toward transparency on a topic traditionally shrouded in "Deep State" secrecy.

"What doesn't totally make sense is why now—disclosure—other than, I mean this is being cynical… The Iran war is not going very well," Rogan said, referencing the recent stalls in Operation Epic Fury. "The American public's very upset. A lot of people don't think we should have ever been involved in that in the first place. And we need some good news."

The filmmaker behind the latest investigation into Bob Lazar’s Area 51 claims says he does not expect, or even want, the U.S. government to disclose all details.

Appearing on the "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" podcast, executive producer Luigi Vendittelli argued that while the public wants the truth about UFOs, there may be national security concerns preventing President Donald Trump from releasing the full files.

"Maybe that’s why Trump closes up when you ask him," Vendittelli told Hannity. "Maybe he knows something that could potentially make that an open door to adversarial countries to come in."

Vendittelli is an executive producer of the documentary "S4: The Bob Lazar Story," which revisits the claims of the famed Area 51 whistleblower. In 1989, Lazar alleged the government was reverse-engineering nine extraterrestrial craft at a secret facility. The government has long denied employing Lazar.

"I don't think it's in the best interest of the American military or the government to tell something like this, Vendittelli added.

President Donald Trump's latest release of UFO files came months after Fox News' Peter Doocy asked him a question about aliens during a February exchange on Air Force One.

"Barack Obama said that aliens are real," Doocy told Trump, referencing an earlier podcast appearance in which former President Barack Obama said of aliens "they're real but I haven't seen them."

"Have you seen any evidence of non-human visitors to Earth?" Doocy asked.

"Well he gave out classified information, he's not supposed to be doing that," Trump responded.

"So aliens are real?" Doocy asked.

"Well I don't know if they're real or not, I can tell you he gave classified information. He's not supposed to be doing that. He made a big mistake. He took it out of classified information

Trump went on to say "I may get him out of trouble by declassifying."

Shortly after, Trump took to Truth Social to announce he would be declassifying a number of documents related to UFOs and aliens.

"Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters. GOD BLESS AMERICA!" he wrote.

FIRST ON FOX — The Trump administration on Friday released a batch of "never-before-seen" files and videos on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon (UAP) as part of an effort to increase transparency on government knowledge of extraterrestrial phenomena.

"The latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents from across the entire United States government are all in one place – no clearance required. While past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files," the White House said in a statement to Fox News.

The release is a function of President Donald Trump's Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) program.

Photos from the initial disclosure, which a White House official told Fox News is the first of a series of releases, show strangely shaped objects captured on film during the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 space missions.
