And the circle…um, pentagon of life is complete.
BMW is the latest, and last of the German automakers to enter the four-passenger door-coupe game with the upcoming 6 Series Gran Coupe. It joins the Audi A7, Porsche Panamera and Volkswagen CC in a segment that was essentially created from scratch by the Mercedes-Benz CLS in 2006.
Depending on your perspective, the Gran Coupe is either a stretched version of the two-door 6 Series, or a smaller and sleeker take on the 7 Series. All three cars share the same basic platform.
It’s set to go on sale next summer with a choice of turbocharged six and eight-cylinder engines, loads of high tech equipment and athletic handling. Pricing has not been announced.
But, regardless of the price tag, how do you think it stacks up against its low-slung Teutonic rivals?
