NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series is about to get much truckier as the 2014 models switch to new bodywork that more closely resembles the production vehicles they represent.
The Toyota Tundra, Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150 are all switching from the familiar, low-profile nose to much taller hoods featuring grille and headlight designs that are almost straight off the factory trucks.
The new front ends also give the trucks a more conventional profile than the somewhat awkward, slope nose models they replace.
The move to bring more of a showroom stock look to the trucks follows similar changes to the Sprint Cup and Nationwide series cars in recent years. Ford took the extra step of showcasing the style of its upcoming aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150.
How the changes affect the racing this year will be more apparent after the green flag drops at the Daytona International Speedway on Friday night for the NextEra Energy Resources 250.
