This Jeep is ready to set sail.

Docked on the Mopar stand at the Detroit Auto Show you'll find the Mopar Recon, a custom Wrangler Unlimited decked out as a showcase for Chrysler’s parts division.

Along with a selection of off-the-shelf components that includes half-doors, rock rails and high-clearance flat fenders, it’s been fitted with prototype 8-lug beadlock wheels and a prototype 4.5-inch long arm lift kit to help it get it through hell or high water.

A 6.4-liter Hemi V8 replaces the stock 3.6-liter V6, and Dana 60 axles front and rear put the power down through a 5.38 ratio.

What gives it the nautical flavor, however, is a battleship grey paint job and seats upholstered in a combination of Navy blankets and Navy camouflage. The knobs and gauges are also trimmed in radar green, and a battleship logo applied to the dashboard.

Clever military stenciling on the outside warns of the “Heat Exhaust” coming out of the vents in the 10th Anniversary Rubicon hood, instructs you to “Push Button To Release Door,” and designates the vehicle as “GP 48015,", a reference to the General Purpose origin of the Jeep name, and the zip code for Mopar HQ in Center Line, Michigan.
