Ford is marking the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang with a special version of America’s original pony car.

The 2015 Mustang 50 year Limited Edition is a Mustang GT fastback that’s been dressed up with several retro cues.

Among them are an extra helping of chrome exterior trim, unique grille with mustang in a corral logo, and rear quarter windows designed to look like louvers.

Each car will is equipped with an upgraded performance package and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 with “at least” 420 hp. The only options are a choice of manual or automatic transmissions and Wimbledon White or Kona Blue paint.

Inside, the aluminum trim gets an axel-spin finish, two-tone seats are upholstered in cashmere and black-colored leather, while cashmere stitching is featured throughout.

Only 1,964 of the cars will be built, a reference to the Mustang’s unveiling on April 17th, 1964, with the earliest cars produced often referred to as 1964 ½ models.

No word yet on pricing, but the special edition cars will be among the first built when the all-new 2015 Mustang goes on sale this fall.
