CHICAGO – The parents of a 17-year-old yeshiva student killed by Hamas terrorists in 1996 have sued two Chicago-area Palestinian-American groups to collect on a legal judgment.
The Chicago Tribune reports (http://trib.in/2pHJypQ ) Stanley and Joyce Boim filed a federal lawsuit Friday in Chicago against American Muslims for Palestine and Americans for Justice in Palestine Educational Foundation.
The man identified in the lawsuit as American Muslims for Palestine's executive director declined comment, telling the Tribune he wasn't aware of the lawsuit. It's unclear if the other organization still exists.
The lawsuit alleges the organizations are "alter egos" of three Islamic fundraising groups held liable years ago for the death of the Boims' son, David, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in the West Bank.
The Boims' initial lawsuit in 2000 alleged the now-defunct groups gave to Palestinian charities funding terrorism. A judge ordered a $156 million judgment against the groups. Boims' attorney says the family received a fraction of the award.
