The judge in the Colorado theater shooting case says attorneys won't have to share more details of what key witnesses will testify about at trial.

Prosecutors had asked the judge to order James Holmes' attorneys to provide summaries of what their expert witnesses plan to say during testimony. And defense attorneys say prosecutors haven't provided certain information about the witnesses they plan to call.

The Denver Post reports (http://dpo.st/1s3pkX8 ) Judge Carlos Samour mostly denied both sides' motions Tuesday, saying they aren't legally bound to share more information than they already have. But he cautioned that if either side tries to introduce expert testimony that has not been previously disclosed, he might prevent them from doing so.

Holmes is charged with killing 12 people and injuring 70 in July 2012. Jury selection starts Jan. 20.
