A Boston Marathon bombing survivor is now engaged to the love of his life after meeting a nurse in a hospital during his recovery.

James "Bim" Costello, who is currently traveling in France on the Boston Marathon Heroes cruise, got engaged to Krista D'Agostino in Lyon this week, according to a post he wrote on Facebook.

Costello suffered serious burns and needed pig skin grafts on his right arm and leg following the April 15 attack, the Boston Globe reports, before he was transferred to D'Agostino’s hospital.

The pair had mutual friends but met for the first time at Spauling Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, MyFoxBoston.com reports.

“After sharing a handful of conversations I realized not only how beautiful she was but also what a kind heart she had,” Costello wrote. “I somehow convinced her to attend a benefit with me, which turned into a few dates, which turned into a few inseparable months. I now realized why I was involved in the tragedy, it was to meet my best friend, and the love of my life.”

The Boston Marathon Heroes Cruise began Dec. 11 will run through Dec. 21.
