An Anchorage parks official says a woman was injured when she got between a cow moose and her calf in Kincaid Park.

KTUU-TV reports that Parks Superintendent Holly Spoth-Torres says a husband and wife were walking on a park trail Monday evening when the woman found herself in the wrong place and was stomped.

Spoth-Torres says a staff report written by park workers indicated the woman was kicked in the head, neck and back. The woman wasn't identified.

Anchorage Fire Department spokesperson Al Tamagni Jr. says medics responded and took the woman to a local hospital.

Spoth-Torres says staff posted warning signs after the stomping.

Alaska Fish and Game spokesman Dave Battle says biologists weren't called Monday night and he had no additional details.
