ANSLEY, Neb. – Authorities say three people are dead after a head-on accident involving a public school van and a pickup truck in rural Nebraska.
The accident happened Friday afternoon on state Highway 2 just west of Ansley, a small town about 160 miles west of Lincoln.
Capt. Jim Parish of the Nebraska State Patrol says three people were killed in the two-vehicle, head-on collision. He says both drivers and a passenger died. It wasn't immediately clear which vehicle the passenger was in.
Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond tells the Kearney Hub newspaper that the accident involved a Broken Bow Public Schools van and pickup truck.
Parish says other passengers were hurt but their injuries didn't appear life-threatening.
